Artemis Rising — Post-​​Production Thoughts

Book trail­ers are a very new pro­mo­tional tool for nov­el­ists. Most don’t have the tech­ni­cal skill, visual acu­men, or equip­ment to cre­ate one on their own. As such, most trail­ers are a suc­ces­sion of still pho­tographs with voiceover. In other words, the story syn­op­sis is told, not shown.

Since last I wrote, I fin­ished the last touches on the “final” script for my novel’s book trailer„ dis­cov­ered a great cos­tum­ing shop, signed on with sev­eral more crew mem­bers, and did some tests shots of my act­ing (whoa!).

The video­g­ra­pher, Will Thoma, and I spent Wednesday night hash­ing out the script for the book trailer. Sounds like all the prin­ci­pal actors are on board, and for bet­ter or worse, I’ll be mak­ing an appear­ance myself in the film, as Eva’s mother, Maria.
