Coming up August 3-4, I’ll be teaching two workshops on e-books at the 2013 Willamette Writers Conference at the Airport Sheraton Hotel in Portland, Oregon.
Design Your ePub Workshop
Aug. 3, 1:30 to 3 p.m.
At this workshop you’ll learn basic and more advanced coding and design techniques to make your novel unique, interactive, and beautiful. We’ll cover e-book format conversion, epub validation, coding for interactive elements, and much more.
Upload Your E-book Workshop
Aug. 4, 10:30 a.m. to Noon
This workshop will cover several types of e-book design software and help you navigate the upload process for all the major vendor sites: Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, and iBooks.

Northwest Writers and Publishers Association Monthly Presentation
Later in the month I’ll teach my popular Advanced E-Marketing workshop at the Northwest Writers and Publishers Association monthly presentation at the Tualatin Public Library: (18878 SW Martinazzi Avenue, Tualatin, Oregon). Self-publishers, marketers, journalists, artists, authors, and aspiring authors are welcome. No charge for NWPA members or students under the age of 18. Guests: $10. Member’s guest: $5.

Advanced E-Marketing: Ebook marketing for the truly motivated
This class covers many advanced, innovative, and exciting new marketing techniques for fiction authors. Heck, many of these ideas will work for nonfiction too.
We’ll cover audio/video, autographing ebooks, and ebook cards. We’ll also discuss promotion groups, Amazon tips and tricks, and the brand new ways writers are packaging and selling their stories.
